Online Purchase of House Hold equipments like Fridge, Washing machine etc

I heard that buying House Hold items like Fridge, Washing machine online is giving service problems.  I mean, when you approach local dealers for service, their first question is where did you buy it??

Then if you say, online, they say we should file a service request  online and they can not do! What to do for this?

  1. It’s true that when it comes to service and maintenance, local dealers sometimes prefer customers who made their purchases through them. I’ve encountered this situation myself with my washing machine and it is really frustrating. However these days customer care of almost every company is getting decent. So purchasing online shouldn’t be an issue.

I think we should choose a reputable online seller that has a service and customer support system in place. They often have tie-ups with local service providers and can facilitate the process for you. Check the warranty and service terms before making a purchase. The convenience and the lower prices of online shopping gives the edge for me.

  2. My place is very small rural area. Surprisingly everyone there is now buying everything including big appliances online. Last year summer season, Flipkart delivery truck had full truck of Air Conditioners and I got to know from him that all ACs were for delivery in my village and nearby villages only.

I think most people now trust buying online. Brand will only send staff for installation. So it is the same if you buy from shop or online.

  3. When we buy household appliances online, the discounts and deals are quite attractive. But when it comes to servicing, repair, and maintenance, it can be a nightmare. From an after-sales service viewpoint, buying from local stores and vendors can be a better choice. For example, if you buy a Philips mixer grinder online and take it to a Philips store to address an issue, they might refuse or ask to follow several procedures. A local technician might help with the repairs. It is personal decision to buy online or offline, but you must consider all the pros and cons.
