So it’s been a year since I have been working from home. When I was at office, I was able to get good coffee using machine, but making the same at home was impossible. I think there’s nothing quite like a good cup of coffee to start your working day. So I decided to look to get one for myself. But with so many coffee makers out there, it can be tough to figure out which one is right for you. I thankfully was able to get trial of some and here are the best ones that can be used to create different types of coffee.
Drip Coffee Makers:
Drip coffee makers are like the old reliable friend of coffee machines. You might’ve seen them. They’re simple, easy to use, and make a decent pot of coffee. I’ve used a bunch of them over the years at different places, and I gotta say, the Philips HD7431/20 is pretty solid. It makes a good pot of coffee, it’s easy to clean, and it doesn’t cost a lot. You can easily find it online.
Price: Rs. 3400
French Press:
If you like a richer, more full-bodied cup of coffee, a French press is the way to go. It’s a bit more hands-on than a drip coffee maker, but the results are worth it. I’ve got a Bodum French Press, and it’s great. The reason I bought this is because you get to control the grind size and brew time, so you can really experiment with different flavors. And how you like your coffee to be.
Espresso Machines:
Now, this is for serious coffee lovers, I mean if you are one, then you’ll probably want an espresso machine. These things can be pricey, but if you love espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos, it’s worth it. These machines can make different types of coffee. I was able to try the Morphy Richards Pronto Espresso Machine. It’s a good starter machine, and it makes good espresso and other flavors too. It can easily make 4 cups at a time and comes with a frothing nozzle.
Pour-Over Coffee Makers:
For a more artisanal coffee experience, a pour-over coffee maker is the way to go. It’s a bit more hands-on, but it gives you a lot of control over the brewing process. The Hario V60 (tough to find online) or The Bean Co Coffee Maker are popular choices. Well, you can control everything here. They are again on expensive side, but are simple to use and makes an immaculate cup of coffee.
Pod Coffee Makers:
If you’re always in a rush, a pod coffee maker might be for you. Buyer be aware, these machines are expensive though. However, making a cup is pretty easy. You just pop in a pod and hit a button. It’s super convenient, but after trying a few in my offices, I personally, didn’t like the coffee quality as compared to other methods. Still, for a quick pick-me-up, a Nespresso machine can be handy.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to coffee makers. It really depends on your preferences, budget, and how much time you want to spend on your morning coffee.
