We all have heard of the Haldiram brand and the range of sweets and namkins they offer. When there are so many local brands available in the market, is it worth paying more for Haldiram sweets and snacks? In my experience, Haldiram is one of the best brands. The snacks and sweets do have an edge over the contemporaries. What makes Haldiram products so special? It’s the flavors, taste, and assurance of quality ingredients. They have aced the taste department for all their products.
Haldiram Bikaji Sev needs no introduction. They are hands down my favorite snacking item. The Bikaneri sev makes for a perfect accompaniment to Poha and Upma. They can also be enjoyed with drinks. The unique taste of bhujia sev is captured perfectly by the brand.
The Bhel mix and Boondi from Haldiram are also great snacking items. Their ready-to-make bhel comes with chutneys and sauces for enhancing the flavors. The Boondis are crispy and fresh and come with a masala. Perfect for coriander and mint raita. There are various savory snacks sold by the brand with no compromise in the quality department. Have you tired their Motichoor Laddoos? They simply melt in the mouth with a perfect balance of sweetness. Milkcake, Soanpapdi, Rasgulla, and Gulab Jamun are some other famous sweets from the brand that are popular for gifting as well.
Also, with Haldiram food joints opening in many cities, the popularity of the brand has increased. Their packaging is outstanding which makes the products appealing. It is common to see Haldiram products hampers during Holi and Diwali. You can never go wrong with Haldiram.
What are your views about the brand, and which sweets and namkins from haldiram are your favorite?
There are mixed reviews when it comes to snacks and sweets from Haldiram. Some popular sweets include laddoo ( both besan and motichoor), gulab jamun, kaju barfi, etc. However, I personally didn’t find their rasgulla or rosogolla worth the price. Also, there are a variety of namkeens of different flavours available in Haldiram. You can use the hampers available as gift items for any occasion.
Yes, I agree, their Rasgullas are not the best, just fairly decent. I have had better rasgullas, soft and bigger, from local shops in the city. But their motichoor laddoos are the best! My experience with namkeens has always been good. It is fresh and tasty. They have been popular for decades for a reason.
The dilemma between local snacks and Haldiram! I’ve had a similar experience – while Haldiram is this massive, well-known brand with a wide range, I still find it hard to beat the unique taste of local snacks. There’s something about the authenticity and flavors of local snacks that Haldiram, despite its popularity, can’t quite match. Personally, I’m a huge fan of Haldiram’s Bikaji Sev, especially the Bikaneri sev. It pairs so well with Upma, and the taste is just unmatched. The Bhel mix and Boondi are also staples for me – the ready-to-make bhel with chutneys is a flavor explosion. And yes, I’ve tried their Motichoor Laddoos; they’re like little drops of sweetness heaven! The variety in sweets, from Milkcake to Gulab Jamun, is impressive, and they make for perfect gifts. But there’s always this special charm with local snacks, right?
The foodie in us loves how Haldiram satiates and delights our taste buds with their sweet and savoury snacks. Their Motichoor Laddoos are my all-time favourite, and I can keep on hogging them. Bikaneri Sev is my second favourite, and I love them more than Ratlami or any other Sev variant.
Snacks from local shops can be good based on what you are looking for. I stay in Ahmedabad, and I haven’t been able to find a local brand that can match up to the taste of Haldiram Snacks. The local shops here offer Gujarati snacks that have a different taste owing to unique ingredients to meet the local taste palette. For me, local shops are great when I am in the mood for authentic Gujju snacks and sweets. Otherwise, Haldiram is an all-time Favourite.
