Are Balaji wafers better than Lays- My experience and review

Lays had been ruling the wafer market unanimously till Balaji took the market by storm. Both brands offer different flavors of chips. For me, Balaji is a better brand as it is economical and offers good quantity for the price we pay. Lays lags behind when it comes to the quantity of the chips. Lays has more variants than Balaji, which might make it a favorite brand of many buyers.

The Balaji wafers are more satiating as compared to Lays. You can buy Balaji wafers at almost half the price of Lays. Even with minimal promotion and advertising, Balaji Wafers has captured a significant market and is offering tough competition to the much-established brand lays. For school and college students, Balaji chips are economical. You can buy their wafers in salted and spicy flavors. Easy on the pocket and good for the tummy! Due to its popularity, Balaji Wafers are available in almost all grocery stores, kirana shops, and milk parlors.

Balaji has also introduced other snacks in the market, which are a must-try. Have you tried the Balaji Wafers, or are you a lays loyalist?

  1. Oh, I’m definitely on the Balaji bandwagon! I find their wafers more satisfying, and the fact that they offer good quantity at such an economical price is a major win for me. Lays, with its numerous variants, may have its fan base, but Balaji’s affordability and quality have me hooked. It’s impressive how Balaji, with minimal promotion, has given tough competition to the more established Lays. I have loved Balaji chips since my student days as they are budget-friendly delight. The availability in almost every grocery store, kirana shop, and milk parlor makes it super convenient too.

    1. I agree with you on that! Most of us have loved Balaji chips since our childhood days as it was one of the most affordable brands. Even a 10 rupee pack was filling. I heard an interesting story about how Balaji created the demand for their product without spending a bomb on their advertising and promotion.

Their sales staff would go to kirana shops, pan parlours, and milk parlours as buyers and ask for Balaji wafers. They would do this repeatedly to make the shop owners feel that there is a demand for Balaji wafers and eventually, they ended up stocking them on their display.

Kudos to them for still maintaining the quality and price point.
