Online food delivery was never so convenient before food delivery apps such as Zomato and Swiggy came into our lives. Regardless of your cravings or location of the restaurant, it is now possible to satiate your hunger pangs by ordering your favorite meal.
I have been a fan of Zomato food delivery app since the beginning. Though I have Swiggy app on my phone, I seldom use it. In my opinion, Zomato is a better choice as compared to Swiggy.
a. Zomato has a better design and interface, which makes the app pleasant to the eyes. It is user-friendly, wherein anyone can explore various options and easily place their orders.
b. As per my experience, I found many more restaurants and food joints linked with Zomato than Swiggy.
c. There are better deals available on Zomato, with one or other offers available most of the time.
d. Zomato Gold is one of the best things about the food delivery app. It not only helps save money on delivery charges but also offers access to amazing deals on dining in specific restaurants. You can have meals at substantial prices even in fine dining restaurants with great offers on dining delights. I have had meals at almost half the price at hotels such as Marriot.
e. You can trust Zomato with your money as their customer care representatives resolve grievances fast and also issue a refund if there is an issue on their part.
f. The delivery by Zomato is on time, and the delivery partners are decent and cordial.

I have never noticed difference in delivery times because delivery times were always uncertain. I think both Zomato and Swiggy offer some vouchers in case of failure to deliver.
Zomato Gold is comparable to Swiggy One. Both have similar features. Swiggy now owns DineOut. So the discounted meals at top hotels is also possible via Swiggy-Dineout.
Last but not the least, both are offering their premium memberships for 1 month trial at a very cheap price (e.g. 49 rupees).
Yes, I observed that too! Swiggy has pulled up their socks and is running the race to be at par with Zomato, But for me, Zomato is still a personal favourite. I have been using the Swiggy app only for my Instamart grocery orders. But the information shared by you is making me think about giving Swiggy a try! I think there is a difference in Zomato charges for restaurants vs Swiggy charges. A restaurant I know said it was almost 30%.
I have Zomato Gold and also Swiggy One.
When I compare prices, the listed prices for same restaurant’s menu items were different. Zomato always cheaper. Now I repent paying for Swiggy premium membership.

Yes, I have experienced that too many a times. Zomato always has better deals to offer. It is one of the most preferred online food delivery apps for a reason. Recently, on Dussehra, I was ordering my lunch and found the same food item from the same food joint at a different price. Getting a Zomato gold membership will help you save significant money on delivery charges.
Did you guys notice Zomato reported surprise profits last quarter and stock price is sky-rocketing? Swiggy must be making similar money because their charges to restaurants is almost the same. And they are in comparable businesses of quick commerce etc too. We will get to know once Swiggy IPO comes 🙂
I prefer Swiggy just because of their user interface. I find it more appealing than Zomato. I don’t think prices are fair on any of these food delivery apps but Out of 10, my 7 orders are from Swiggy.
I agree; prices can be the same more often than not. And, yes, it’s a personal preference to choose between Zomato and Swiggy; some find Zomato better, while others prefer Swiggy. Pretty much shows why both apps are equally popular 🙂
