I’ve Tried 3 Vacuum Cleaners For My Home. Here’s My Experience And Review

Choosing a vacuum cleaner was one of the toughest things that I ever did. I bought my first one for my uncle’s home, which was AmazonBasics Vacuum Cleaner. I chose it because it was the best in our budget. Recently, I bought Philips PowerPro Vacuum Cleaner for my home and also 6 months back a Eureka Forbes Vacuum Cleaner for dad’s office. Our experience of using all the three has been pretty different. Out of the three Philips one has performed the best one till now. I will tell you about my experience about all three.

Philips PowerPro FC9352/01 Vacuum Cleaner:

I really love using this vacuum cleaner because it comes with the round brush already attached, making it super convenient to access whenever I need them. Not only does it have the regular floor brush, but it also has a turbo roller brush that does a fantastic job at handling dirt, debris, and even my dog’s hair from my carpets. I’ve found it to be highly effective on various surfaces like carpets, wooden floors, and hard surfaces like tiles, marble, and granite. Whether it’s fine dust, sand, or smaller debris, this vacuum cleaner excels at getting rid of them. It also handles large debris and pet hair pretty well, although there are times, it tends to nudge piles of larger debris instead of sucking them up. I was a little disappointed with it.

In my personal experience, I’ve noticed that this vacuum cleaner has a bit more weight compared to other models I’ve mentioned and used. But I would say that its large wheels and 6-meter cord make it very easy to maneuver around the office, which was great. I have to admit, it can get a bit heavy, and your hands might start to ache after a short while when tackling ceiling cleaning tasks.

AmazonBasics Cylinder Bagless Vacuum Cleaner:

If you’re on a budget and find the Philips Powerpro a bit too pricey, I’ve had some experience with the AmazonBasics Cylinder Bagless Vacuum Cleaner, which offers a more affordable alternative. As I mentioned, this was my first vacuum cleaner. Interestingly, these two vacuums share quite a few similarities. Just like the Philips model, the AmazonBasics vacuum is also bagless, and I love the added convenience of openings on both sides, making cleaning it very easy. Plus, the accessories can be securely attached to a holder and hung on the stainless steel wand, ensuring easy access. Speaking of the wand, it is very extendable, much like the Philips, making it handy for reaching high ceilings. However, I would like to point out some key differences. The AmazonBasics vacuum cleaner offers variable suction capacity, allowing me to adjust the suction based on the level of dirt and the type of surface. When I was dealing with delicate surfaces or light dirt like curtains or a keyboard, I was able to set the suction to a lower level. Additionally, it’s notably quieter, which is less noisy than the Philips model. While Philips has a turbo floor brush, AmazonBasics comes with a brush specifically designed for wooden floors so it is good if you have wooden flooring in your home. Also, the weight of AmazonBasics vacuum is lighter than the Philips, and it does come with a slightly shorter 5-meter cord.

In terms of performance, I’ve found that the AmazonBasics vacuum excels on hard floors but it didn’t clean the carpets as well. It effectively tackles dust and small debris but isn’t the best at handling pet hair. Both vacuums do a good job of cleaning edges and corners in a room, and for everyday use, they’re pretty convenient. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that when I set the suction above 75% of its maximum capacity on the AmazonBasics model, it can become a bit challenging to move the floor brush, as the vacuum’s suction power becomes quite strong, requiring more effort to push the floor head.

Eureka Forbes SuperVac Vacuum Cleaner:

In my experience, the Eureka Forbes Supervac falls in between the AmazonBasics and Philips Powerpro in terms of both performance and price. This bagless vacuum cleaner is fantastic on hard floors like tiles. I loved how it handled sand, larger debris, and even pet hair without just pushing them around. However, when it comes to carpets and rugs, it can be a bit tricky to push, so I typically set the suction power at around 50-75%. On the first pass, it removes about 80-85% of sand, 95% of pet hair, and roughly 70-75% of larger debris. I think Philips Powerpro outperforms it in this department, because it has a dedicated roller brush designed for carpets and rugs.

When I compared it to the AmazonBasics Cylinder, I found that moving the Supervac’s floor brush was easier. With the AmazonBasics model, the vacuum’s suction between the floor brush and the floor can sometimes be quite strong, making it a bit of a struggle to maneuver. While AmazonBasics includes a specialized floor brush for wooden floors, the Supervac doesn’t, but honestly, both of them clean wooden floors with ease, so that’s not a significant difference. You’ll find the same set of accessories with both options: a crevice tool, furniture brush, and a round brush. If you’re willing to spend a bit more, I would highly recommend the Supervac over the AmazonBasics Cylinder. It’s easier to use, and in my opinion, it stands out as one of the best vacuum cleaners for home use in India.

In my personal usage experience, when it comes to selecting the right vacuum cleaner, there are several crucial factors to consider. These include the design, how well it cleans, how easy it is to move around, the convenience of emptying the dust bag or bowl, the length of the cord, and its suitability for various surfaces in your home. If you want to go overboard, then go for robotic vacuum cleaners. They are incredibly user-friendly and require minimal effort. However, it is very expensive.

  1. I have been looking for a good vacuum cleaner for quite some time now, and it was so confusing to find the right brand. I was really impressed with Dyson, but it is expensive and beyond my resources. After reading your detailed review, I guess it would be a little easy to make the choice. Vacuum cleaners are best when they are handy and available at competitive prices.

    1. Actually, the handiness and price point is what makes it difficult to find good vacuum cleaners because cheap ones don’t have all the features and expensive ones are bulky and tough to handle. it is all about finding the right mix.
