Better soap for winter season- Pears or Dove

Winters need a gentle soap that doesn’t rip the moisture off our skin and keeps it supple and nourished. Pears and Dove are popular soaps for winter as they are formulated to keep the skin moisturized.

I have used pears for decades during winters, as years ago, we hardly had better options for glycerine or gentle soaps. Lux, Liril, Cinthol, Medimix, Lifebuoy, and Nirma were other options sold during that time. So, pears became our go-to soap for keeping dry skin at bay. And the soap never disappointed. It is really gentle on your skin and smells amazing. Easily glides on the body and offers a good bathing experience. Just apply a good lotion after bathing, and your skin will thank you.

Years later, Dove was launched into the market, and just like other products, their soaps were excellent. They haven’t especially promoted their soaps as ‘winter-friendly’, but the formulation of the soap is such that it doesn’t dry your skin and leaves it soft and supple. The mild fragrance lingers on the skin, making you feel fresh. However, for me, pears have an edge over Dove. Owing to glycerine and natural oils, it has better nourishing effects on the skin. I would only replace pears with a gentle body wash and no other soap brand. Pears has set a benchmark, and it isn’t easy to find a better substitute for winter soap.

  1. I have gone through the content. It is so useful to me as winter is coming. I will also tell my friends to go through it.

  2. Dove is a really good bathing soap, but I don’t like its price point. yes, it doesn’t get liquidated easier like Pears, but still expensive. Pears with glycerine is bound to liquidate faster, but as you said, it is awesome for Winters. It is definitely softer, but I won’t say that Dove is outright bad. If you can afford it, I think it is also a good choice.

    1. I agree that Dove and Pears can be a little expensive, and they do dilute faster than other soaps. If one can afford them, they are a good choice for the 3-4 months of Winter. I would still say Pears has an edge over Dove. People looking for affordable options can go for body washes for winter, as regular soaps would rip the moisture off the skin and leave it dry and stretchy.

There are budget-friendly body washes available offline and online from Nivea and Fiama. They last longer as you need only a few drops and a good loofah to spread and lather them well.
