Hello friend. I want to buy a new big fridge as the old one is notnworking anymore. Old one was kelvinator 200 litre. More than 20 years service. Now we want a bigger fridge. Local price is too much than online price. Please advise. I am in rural area so not sure if online buying large item is safe?

Why dont you buy from nearby shop and tell them about the online price? They may give you some discount. You can order online ofcourse. It’s safe enough.
I would say buying online is safe enough. Both Flipkart and Amazon do deliver to a lot of pincodes in rural area. We had ordered a samsung 253l fridge from flipkart and was delivered at a rural address without problems. Make sure you choose the right seller. And wait for the brand person come and unpack the package. That way it’s easy to return or exchange if something is not right.
Agree, we had ordered a fridge from Flipkart to my native place near Patna. It took about 10 days. Delivery was good. Next day the service person called to come and unpack and install. We had unpacked by then so told him not to come.
My dad always prefers local store. That maintains a good relationship. They usually come to help when needed later.
I second it. Nearby shops delivery is much faster and you can easily call them up for anything.
At least I can say go with a simpler fridge and not one with a lot of complicated features. They don’t work well. The convertible ones are bad in my opinion. Also the service person will tell you not to use the conversion feature as that will reduce the fridge’s performance.
Convertible fridges are of not much use. You will rarely use the conversion. So don’t pay more for functionalities you are not going to use.
Buying fridge or ac online? Choose flipkart and not amazon. Flipkart has good coverage in rural area.
Buy from local. Show him the online price and he should give some discount. That always happened with me.
