My wife had been bragging me to buy one spin mopp for cleaning the floor. I was against buying as its cost was somewhere between 1000 – 1500 rs and an ordinary mopp costs just 100 rs. However last month, I have to give in and my wife finally bought a spin mopp through online. Whenever I saw the mopp, i always had the puzzled look at it. For nearly one week, even my wife and my daughter did not know how to use the mopp also. My happiness grew inside me because one day i can point out to them that their purchase was useless.
But one week later, my daughter found out how to use the mopp using youtube videos. And she also taught our maid, who is a old lady, on how to use the same. After three days, this old lady told me that she is very happy because in the spin mopp, she has less work on the mopp stick and more work done to the floor. She doesn’t have to squeeze the mopp end as in the spin mopp, the unit does it. Hence, for her it is more easy and very comfortable. I was happy because I could help the old lady in her works too.
The beauty part is not in just supporting the old lady maid, but we supported ourselves with this spin mopp. One day, the washing machine water outlet came out of its drain hole, and water spread to the whole house within few minutes, before we could notice. As our home was a little large, it spread to few rooms and the kitchen. It would have been a herculean task if not for this spin mopp.
We just used the spin mopp to absorb all the water on the floor, and squeezed it into the tub, Once the tub was filled, we drained the water in the bathroom. In this way, we could clear the water from the whole house within half hour. Else it would have taken us more than 3 hours to just clean.
Hence, my suggestion is to go for the spin mopp to help you clean the floors.

I would not mind spending 1000 rupees for a spin mop. I did buy once from Amazon brand.
The handle broke in a year. There are no replacement handles available. So a lot of things go waste.
Comfort wise I still want to ise spin mop. But companies should stop looting and to make this more cost effective and customer friendly.
And I would think twice before giving the spin mop to maid. The way she hits the mop everywhere, monthly mop purchase price will be more than her salary.
Understood. But with this spin mop, for the first time may be she would do so. Once practiced, you may even become a dealer and she may sell to all other houses too.
Yeah, I bought Scotch Brite mopper and it has been working great. The quality of the material is great and it comes with 2 mop heads and despite using it for six months straight, the first one is still like new. I think it was a good investment and got it for just 1200 rupees. The bucket is also of good quality.
The spin mop is a great tool for cleaning. I bought it during the pandemic when maids were not there, and we had to do the household chores ourselves. It really made cleaning a cakewalk. The stick and bucket are convenient to use and save time. But I am not really sure if I would allow my house help to use it for cleaning the floor. The mop costs around INR 1000- 1500, and maids rarely handle such tools carefully. There are more chances of her breaking or damaging the mop and bucket within a few days than simplifying her work. But yes, on days when you have to clean the home, spin mops are a blessing.
