So, as you know Flipkart’s Big Billion Day Sale is starting on 8th October and they have started offers already on personal care and cosmetic products. I decided to jump the bandwagon. I was looking for Shampoo and came across JOY 2-in-1 conditioning shampoo. Usually the 320 ml bottle costs between Rs. 160-180, but I was getting an awesome deal of getting two bottles of 320 ml shampoo in just Rs. 215.
I was pretty excited because it was saving me more than 120 Rs. This was the first time I ordered such a household product from Flipkart usually I prefer Amazon because I use prime and get no delivery charges. But anyways, I also ordered a LUX Body Wash 750 ml along with it just for Rs. 191, which sells for around 260-280.
Both products arrived together. Everything was okay until my mother picked up the shampoo bottles, and said that she feels they are very light in weight. I didn’t think any of it but later decided to open the bottles, both were almost half empty. I was really disappointed and angry. I contacted customer support but there was no return policy on that particular purchase. They told me they only accept returns if the product comes damaged, but they did nothing about half empty bottles.
The other LUX body wash was okay as it came in transparent bottle. So please even if you are ordering something because it will save you money from Flipkart please check and order only the product that has return policy.

What you said is 100% true. I have very bad experience with non-returnable items on Flipkart. A lot of fraud sellers are promoted in Flipkart. They are selling duplicate products in broad daylight. Not just SALE time. They are doing it all the time.
I do not know how you can call flipkart customer support. I did not find any way to contact a person and complain. I will say nobody should trust flipkart for non returnable products.
Yes, fraud sellers and they are making our life bad. The worst thing is they don’t even listen to customer complaints. Even currently Khadi Natural Bath Soaps they are selling of 2021 manufacturing date, which is really bad. This can be dangerous for people like us, so it is important to check expiry date of these sale products.

Flipkart has really disappointed me for cosmetics. I think Amazon is way better and during sales, there quality goes further down.
in last 5 years, I have purchased at least one item above rs 10000 during flipkart big billion day. In 4 cases the item was defective and we had to return it. i think they are offloading defective and returned products in the name of sale.
return time is also very bad and unpredictable after the sale. this year i am still waiting for return pickup since 1 week.
Woah, that’s not good. Flipkart really messes up during sales and as I am going through reviews, I think I won’t be making big purchases from there anytime soon. I hope your item was picked up now.
True, I didn’t have a good experience with Flipkart and Amazon when it came to personal care products and cosmetics. They didn’t seem authentic, and it’s better not to get personal care products and cosmetics from these platforms, especially if they are offered at a very low cost during sales. It is not just during sale periods; I would advise not to buy skincare/ personal care products or cosmetics from these platforms.
I would say my experience with Amazon has been good overall with 95% of the products. The best thing while buying on Amazon is looking at seller reviews rather than just product reviews. Trusted sellers provide best products so it is better to choose them.
Yes, Amazon and Flipkart are good options for buying electronics, gifting items, and home decor essentials. They can’t be trusted with cosmetics. I personally prefer only Nykaa and Myntra app, in that order for cosmetics. These portals always have some amazing deals and sales, yet there is no compromise with the quality. I have been buying cosmetics from Nykaa for years now. It is shocking to see so many people having bad experiences with Flipkart. Hope they resolve buyer grievances and improve their services.
Definitely Nykaa is great because it is their niche and they started as cosmetics online store. I haven’t bought cosmetics from Myntra, so thanks for your review. May be I will give it a shot in future.
