The serum brings the benefits of pure Vitamin C, Witch Hazel, and hyaluronic acid. Vitamin C safeguards the skin while enhancing its radiance. Witch Hazel clears the skin, refines pores, and diminishes redness. Hyaluronic acid provides profound hydration and reinforces collagen structure. I had a lot of acne and pigmentation on my skin and was looking for this kind of product.
The price is INR 599 for a 30ml bottle or you can also avail discount on Amazon. I got this at 450/-. The Shelf Life of the serum is 2 years.
The Wow Vitamin C serum is enclosed in a dark brown glass bottle fitted with a pump on top. The pump is protected by a cap that doesn’t cover the nozzle. I appreciate the dark bottle, as it helps in preserving the power of the active ingredients. Furthermore, both the bottle and the accompanying cardboard box offer good product information.
The serum has a pleasant fruity fragrance with a hint of citrus. The scent fades after application.
Review and my Personal Experience with WOW Skin Science Vitamin C Serum
The serum feels lightweight on the skin and provides ample hydration for oily and combination skin types. While visible results take time to manifest, I noticed a natural radiance on my skin within a week.
Furthermore, this serum hasn’t caused breakouts or skin irritation for me. This product appears to be quite satisfactory considering its price point. Its lightweight, oil-free, non-sticky, and residue-free nature makes it suitable for oily and combination skin. Moreover, it effectively combats skin dullness and is free from parabens, silicone, and mineral oil.
This is the overall the best serum that I have used for my skin and also it is affordable to me. I usually travel a lot, and the packaging of the serum is travel-ready and user-friendly.
Personally I did not like it due to the thickness of the formula and smell. Garnier and Lakme are the ones I liked more. Wow and Mama Earth products are probably too much into social marketing and not spending in R&D. But yes, everyone has personal liking on the smell and texture.
yes that’s because I have been using many of the wow skin care products and literally loved them the way the products work on my skin. I also have purchased the anti pimple serum of WOW skin care and I personally feel that it is great on my skin and it is non sticky and lightweight.
I hope you all know these vitamin C serums can have serious side effects. It can make your skin absorb more UV rays, and you will not realize problems until it is too late. Please do your own research.
I am not scaring you or saying WOW serum has this side effect. This is true for Vitamin C on skin.
Use a sunscreen if you are using a vitamin C serum.
Furthermore, vitamin C serum can cause dryness of skin, flaking and peeling in some cases. Aloevera Gel can be a better alternative for skin health.
I can certainly relate to the importance of understanding the potential side effects of vitamin C serums from my personal experience. A while back, I decided to incorporate a vitamin C serum into my skincare routine after hearing all the buzz about its benefits. However, I was unaware of some potential drawbacks. It’s true; vitamin C serums can indeed make your skin more sensitive to UV rays. I learned this the hard way when I started noticing subtle changes in my skin texture and pigmentation. It wasn’t until I did some research that I realized the serum might have been the culprit. I immediately started using sunscreen religiously, and that made a significant difference.
Moreover, I did experience dryness and peeling, especially when I first introduced the serum. At that point, I decided to explore alternatives for skin health. Aloe Vera Gel became my go-to choice. It provided the nourishment my skin needed without the sensitivity issues I faced with the vitamin C serum. In essence, my personal journey with vitamin C serums taught me that they can be beneficial but also come with their share of potential side effects. It’s crucial for everyone to do their research and consider their skin type and needs before diving into any new skincare product, whether it’s vitamin C or something else. Always remember to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays and explore alternatives if necessary to maintain a healthy and radiant complexion.
There are so many cosmetics companies that came up in India in last two years. Thanks to Shark Tank India, Covid and Startup mindset. Are these companies like WOW and MAMA EARTH selling same quality as popular brands like Loreal, Garner etc and selling it cheaper? Anyone switched from the foreign brands to these new Indian brands?
I think this is a great question that you have put up. I have been associated with a caffeine based cosmetic brand and I understand the influx of new cosmetics companies in India over the past two years, especially the rise has been after COVID-19 or just 6 months before that. We can say that Shark Tank is one of the catalyst but these companies were already making names. McCaffine for example started before the pandemic. I think the startup culture is a big factor and brands like Nykaa and Myntra focusing a lot on cosmetics have been very significant. But I think not all the products by these new companies are good. There are a lot of issues in their quality. I have shared review of my product usage here before on this website of brands like Mama Earth, WoW and Nykaa.
I won’t call these companies bad or inferior in any terms but I don’t think they can match the level of brands like L’Oréal and Garnier. The new companies may be offering lower prices, but they have a lot of work to do in terms of quality and consistency of products. Brands like WOW and Mama Earth are getting famous due to natural ingredients and sustainability, which I think can be a major plus for any new brand. But as I said, product matters. I don’t think these companies have nailed it as of yet.
I love my skincare and hair care products and I am very picky about them. I like trying these new products but to be honest, I go back to established foreign brands due to their track record and trust of many years.
I think it will take time and consistency for the new brands to beat companies like Garnier and LOreal.
I have been seeing all the influencers and Youtubers promoting WOW products, but personally, I never felt like trying them. Sometimes, excessive promotions can be a turn-off. I never saw anyone around me using WOW Science items, so the brand never comes to my mind while buying beauty care products. Somehow, I still trust renowned and tried and tested brands when it comes to cosmetics and beauty care.
