  1. “lego” is the best in terms of quality. You pay more for the quality. For <3yrs, do not give them the small componts

  2. For 2 year old, “lego” brand products may not be the best, especially due to small parts. Agree to the above comments that the quality is unmatched.
See if you can get some with large enough parts. Parts that can easily be handled and larger than the mouth 😀

I saw some brands with large blocks. Not quite sure of the quality. Don’t just buy the cheapest ones. Plastic quality matters. Most unbranded ones from China are reportedly toxic with high lead content.

    1. There is such a variety of brands these days, it’s tough to distinguish good plastic from bad. Gone are the days when we would go to a store, feel the product and purchase.

Agree btw, plastic quality matters a lot – especially in kids toys that has the potential to get into there mouths.

  3. Some big blocks and wheels will be good. We got some from local shop and the baby was super happy and engaged. Small pieces are very risky you know.

  4. Many blocks toys are good for older kids, like 6yr+. When there is more no. of blocks the pieces are very tiny usually.
For 2year old, try to find detailed pictures of some blocks or creations before you buy. Some times the pictures provided by seller appear too large. But actual product is tiny. Lego brand blocks are too tiny for 2year old babies.

  5. The fixing technique in lego is different from the cheap alternatives. Check both on youtube before you decide.

  6. LEGO brand quality is above everyone else. They also have some varieties for toddlers below 3 years. Search for “LEGO DUPLO”.

    Another option is “MEGA BLOKS”.

    Both these are little expensive.
