What do you think about buying an imverter battery online from flipkart or amazon? Is the cost more than local shops? I think so because of the heavy weight and resteictions in transporting acid batteries.

Agree. At least for metros and tier-1 cities, the delivery is almost same as with buying from local stores. For remote areas, you are better off buying offline.

Definitely not a good idea. I think local stores are better. However, if you can compare prices and find something similar, then you can go for online. But invertor battery installation will cost you more. I think it is better to go offline as local store guys give you installation free as well. You can bargain too. Last year, I got a battery replacement for my home and was able to save 2500 rupees overall as compared to online.
