Fashion jewellery buyers please help

Hi friends, I am Sapna. I had started handmade jewellery making as a hobby and now thinking of selling online. My jewellery are mostly made if beads and silk. I am not able to upload photos here.

Ladies and everyone, do you buy this type of jewellery online? I have seen amazon selling similar jewelllery.

Should i try selling on amazon, flipkart etc? Or facebook? Is there a way to make a deal with courier company for low cost delivery? Please help.

  1. Amazon, flipkart will take 10% commission? Better create a page in FB and show photos, take payment and send via courier. Courier charges will be high I think. Just talk to the courier guys about your business and they may give you a good deal. Now a days all they do is ecommerce delivery only. So they must be having some good package deals – like a discounted combo price for 100 parcels or so.
I suggest you don’t make any such deals now and start selling on FB. Once there are few orders you will know what is cost effective.

  2. You might already be too late. There are countless people selling this or that on facebook especially during the current covid situation. You should target your friends in facebook.

  3. There are so many such sellers all over the social media. I’m afraid you may not get a lot of customers to begin with. No harm trying.

  4. Just a suggestion, donot put pictures of just the jewelery. You wear it or find a friend who likes to pose for photos. Pictures of someone wearing the items is more inspiring and can attaract customers.

  5. You can showcase you are product on social media platforms as it is one of the most effective ways to let people know your product and get organic reach there. You can start on Instagram or Facebook and get customers from there. Start posting reels and post everyday it will help you in the long run.

  6. Facebook and Instagram are best platforms for these kind of shopping. You must be a little patient to get orders. Keep trying and you will succeed

  7. Hand-made and imitation jewelry market is growing each day, with many sellers entering the market. It can appear to be challenging to enter such a market and survive the competition. However, you must be a little patient and be consistent with your efforts. In this digital era, it is extremely important for you to have an online presence. It helps capture the online market and expand your business beyond geographical boundaries.

Though it can seem lucrative to sell your products on e-commerce giants such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra, it is better for a small business/ startup to sell via social media platforms. You can create your brand page on Facebook and Instagram and target buyers for selling your jewelry.

Initially, you can begin by targeting people around you, such as family and friends, and later on target a wider audience. If your budget permits, it is recommended to invest in Social Media Optimization via an experienced digital marketing agency. It will promote your page and help in widening your client base. Instagram is a great platform to promote your business and tab the opportunities. Adding customer testimonials as your business starts growing will further help buyers trust your brand.

Once your venture starts performing better and your bandwidth increases, you can also get a website made and sell directly from there. For starters, social media platforms are a great choice.

    Best Wishes for your Endeavors!

  8. Flipkart and Amazon will charge a commission for it. It’s better to start off your business ventures by creating a dedicated Facebook page. Take attractive photographs of the jewellery pieces and post them on your page on a daily basis. Do live videos from the page regularly to stay in touch with the followers. If you have to use courier services frequently, you may talk to the courier service and have the price reduced. However, you must contact reliable courier services only.
