  1. Did you ask this to your parents? The safety depends on the website you are buying from. You can use credit card debit card net banking for UPI all safely on these websites.
All these payment methods use an extra security feature of OTP or PIN. Safest and easiest for you would be netbanking if you have it enabled. Else the debit card.

  2. Recently all banks have disabled online use of debit cards if you have not used it for some time. To enable online use, you have to log in to netbanking and enable it. From what you said, I think you’re not using netbanking either. then you have to go to the bank and enable it. If the shopping site is allowing UPI, you can easily enable UPI using your phone only. However, be very careful with UPI and never share UPI otp etc. with anyone. Also do not install a lot of apps on your phone. If app is asking for permission to read SMS or control remotely, don’t install.

  3. UPI is great if you use it responsibly. It might be a good idea to have Net Banking enabled on your account because a lot of things can now be done online without going to the bank.
If using UPI, make sure you add UPI payment method and then remove it after doing the payment. That way there is less chance of UPI fraud because you will have to enable it again manually.
