The awareness about sunscreens has increased more than ever. Dermats and influencers have been educating people about using good sunscreen every day. While we earlier believed that Sunblock is to be used only while stepping out, experts say that we must apply sunscreen as a part of our AM routine, even indoors, to protect the skin from damages caused by UV rays.
Earlier, there were only a few brands of Sunscreens, but now you can find a plethora of options. Even dermatologists suggest some good sunscreen brands, but they are on the expensive side and not affordable for all. Lotus and Lakme are reputed brands for beauty and skincare that are trusted by people for years. I have tried sunscreens from both brands and found them to be really effective.
My review of both the sunscreens:
- Lotus- The Lotus sunscreens are a good choice and budget-friendly too. I used it during peak summers and found it to be effective. There was no tanning, and it lasted for 3-4 hours without reapplication. I used the Lotus sunscreen with 30 SPF and then switched to Lotus Sports Sunscreen with 100 SPF. I was so happy with the switch, as this one was much more effective. The Lotus Sunscreens smell pleasant however, they leave a white cast, which can be a little concerning. Apart from that, they are worth investing.
- Lakme- The brand needs no introduction as we have been using various products from Lakme for decades, and their sunscreens are no exception. Lakme offers sunscreens with different SPF. I feel for Indian summers, SPF 50 is a great choice. I am currently using the Lakme sunblock and quite impressed with the results. Even after stepping out in the sun, there is no tanning. It smells great and spreads evenly on the skin. Just a small amount of the face and hands is sufficient for the coverage. Even the Lakme sunblock leaves a little white cast, but it is manageable.
I feel both brands are doing great, and their sunscreens are worth investing in. You can try either of them and see the results for yourself. Do share your experience and let me know of any other sunscreen brand in the pocket-friendly range.
