Hello shopping experts, do you think Amazon Pantry prices are good compared to local shops?
For Rice, Dal, Sugar, everything, local shop price is much cheaper that Amazon Pantry. Amazon prices are too high printed price. Then they offer discount on it. Even then, the discount price is costlier than local shop price. Have you compared this?
Local store price is very much cheaper than amazon price. Sugar is 40 rupees locally, Amazon charges 50. Dal is available for 70-80 rupees. On amazon it is 120 rupees and more.
Are you guys talking about branded items? Pantry gives good discount on branded dal, sugarfree, ghee, spices etc. Local shop in my place gives 2-5 % off on mrp. Pantry is almost 15% less than mrp.
My neighbor shop gives things at better price.
Anazon grocery is too costly compared to local shop. I can buy local good products not available online
Amazon PANTRY is no longer there right? I think they changed it to AMAZON FRESH.
Amazon Fresh vegetables prices are cheaper than local market in Bangalore. Some items are costly however. Like Yelakki banana.
Potato, Tomato, Onion etc are always cheaper there.
There are so many instant delivery companies out there, I think they outperform Amazon for grocery delivery. Dunzo and Swiggy Instamart especially are doing good. Did you guys try them and other companies like Blinkit, Suprdaily?
Based on my personal experience with Amazon India, I’ve encountered a similar scenario. I’ve often noticed that Amazon Pantry does tend to display higher initial prices compared to local shops. However, it’s essential to dig a bit deeper into the pricing strategy to make a fair comparison. Amazon often offers discounts, and if you factor in these reductions, the prices can become more competitive. Here’s where the convenience of online shopping shines. While local shops might have lower base prices, they might not always offer the same level of variety, quality, or brands that Amazon does. Also, Amazon’s delivery service to your doorstep can save you time and effort. In my case, I found that for some specific brands or products, Amazon Pantry might be slightly pricier, but for others, especially when considering the discounts and the convenience of home delivery, it was on par or even more cost-effective. It essentially boils down to what products you buy, the brands you prefer, and your individual priorities – whether it’s saving money or enjoying the convenience of online shopping.
So, I recommend doing a bit of price comparison, considering discounts and the value of convenience, to determine if Amazon Pantry aligns with your shopping preferences and needs.
