What is the budget? You can get laptops at under 20k too. That may not be able to handle the heavy softwares.
If I read it right, you are going to use some design software. What software?
Design software are usually heavy in resource usage. You will need good specification laptop. The entry-level laptops or chromebooks will not suffice.
Personally I would try to see if there is an older laptop on sale with good features. May be “renewed” items sold on Amazon or 2Gud which is Flipkart’s site for used products.
Let us know what software or tool you will use for design work and I can suggest better. Also, the laptop will be used for other things like movies, music, website browsing, gaming, kids study etc?
I do not know the software. What is ised by engineer to make building desing? we do it on pen paper and people think it is not good. lines are not straight. etc

Go with a chromebook. Cheap and best!
Chromebook will be a pain for software availability. I think chromebooks are not worth anything more than internet browsing.
Buy any laptop you find in 26-30k range from Lenovo, Asus, Dell or HP. Do not buy a chromebook. Buy something where you have a good processor. Less RAM is ok because you can add more later.

There are laptops under 20k also. I dont know your business. For home use, 20k laptop is very good.
Under 30k, blindly go for any dell or asus laptop. I don’t like cheap hp laptops as I had bad experience personally.
Flipkart has some sale coming up for Independence Day. Amazon or Snapdeal also. Do you have reliance digital or Chroma stores nearby? I heard they are now offering vrey good prices.
Acer has been well-known for low cost laptops for decades. Their latest laptops compete well with top brands like dell or lenovo.

This is a good laptop under 30k. You can upgrade everything in future. Acer laptop is value for money.
I agree. Acer offers low cost to high-end laptops. Extensa model mentioned earlier is a good one. Also they have good business/gaming laptops at around 70k
