There were a variety of Hexbug toys available a few years back. I had purchased and gifted a few too. There were remote controlled insects, spiders, water bots and many more. Now I want to buy some for the kid and myself, but can not find the toys anywhere. There are few seen on Amazon but the price seems suspicious. What was around 1000 rupees is seen to be more than 5000/-. What is wrong? Is the product/brand still in business?
Anyone please help if there is a way to buy these toys. Quality of those toys were too good and the technology as well.
They were available exclusively on Amazon. I think that partnership ended many years back. Surprising that no cheap chinese replica are available anywhere!
Yes, I was also checking out some products for my nephew but couldn’t find cheap replicas because the products of Hexbug that are available in India are very expensive. I am surprised that they sell such high priced product and why people are even spending so much on them.
The Hexbug toys available on Amazon.in are now imported by various sellers and delivered to your India address. So, the price is almost 3x the earlier price. Unless you can get someone purchased in the UK or US and then bring to you, this is the only option at this moment.
Hexbug nano are available at usual prices on Flipkart ~200 rupees per piece. However, that’s it. Other toys like the Scrab (Crab), Insect, Hexbug Spider and Water bots are only available via Amazon.
You can try placing order on Amazon UK or US websites and choose delivery location as India. Price may be almost the same after the shipping and customs duty are added to product price.
I think it is not worth it to get such expensive products. And the worst part is that sometimes custom guys don’t even call you or inform you about the products shipping and it gets lost in transit. I think it is better to look at alternatives if they are available in India. otherwise I think it is nothing but waste of money. Why would you spend 3x more on a toy. I also think the option of someone bringing them for you from US and UK is probably better because you won’t have to spend ridiculous amount.
Good idea. I will ask my friend to get one from US.
Even in hexbug website, they have not mentioned any Indian sales arm. But, I see in amazon, flipkart, Desertkart, ubuyindia websites they have offered.
However, price, time of delivery to be noted. And if they are imported, on delivery, the delivery person may demand duty charges, if any, related to this import. We have to be careful
Any thoughts on this, please
