Philips v/s Braun facial hair remover. My experience and verdict

Facial hair removal has been one of the main concerns for women of all ages. There are different ways of getting rid of facial hair but are quite painful, messy, and time-consuming. Threading, waxing, and shaving are common methods of hair removal but very painful and messy. Also, you need to wait for at least 15 days so that hair grows enough to be removed.

With new hair remover devices, you can easily get rid of the unwanted facial hair within a minute or two without any mess or pain! The device was introduced in the market 2-3 years ago and many brands started selling it. I bought this device from Amazon from a local brand and it stopped working within 3-4 use. After that I started looking for device from reliable brands and came across Philips and Braun.

Here’s my detailed review about both the facial hair removal devices and which one is better based on my experience.

Braun

The mini facial hair removal battery-operated device looks sleek and smart. It is suitable for removing hair from sensitive areas such as upper lips, chin, cheeks, and near the eyebrows with utmost ease. The device has a rotary design which contours to the skin. Thus, the process of hair removal becomes quick and effective even at the angles that are tough.

The device has a built-in light so that it gets easy to spot even light peach fuzz and move the device in that area for optimum hair removal results. It ensures that the hair removal is consistent and smooth. The facial hair gets removed safely due to the rotary cutting system along with the protective foil. There is no risk of cuts and bruises unlike threading, waxing, and shaving. In fact, I did not notice any redness or inflammation on the skin.

One of the plus points of the device is that it is pretty small in size and convenient to carry in your purse. It’s absolutely travel-friendly. As there are no cuts or rashes on the skin, it creates a perfect base for makeup application. I have used the device many times just before makeup to create a smooth base for flawless makeup application.

It is one of the best choices for a quick hair-removal touchup. The compact shape and size adds to the convenience. The credit for the excellent design goes to the German expertise spanning over a period of 50 years. The device reflects the efficient design. The device comes in a box which contains the facial hair remover, battery, and a brush for cleaning the device after each hair removal session.

Philips

The Philips facial hair remover is yet another brilliant choice for removing facial hair. Philips comes with reliability and credibility as the brand has been in the market for decades. It is an electrical device that does the job perfectly without any burns, redness, or cuts. I am really happy using the device. It operates on AA batteries. You need to insert two batteries at the bottom. It comes in champagne pink color and looks like a long tube.

There is a LED light which goes on when you start the device. You simply need to twist the bottom of the tool to switch on. The device can be used easily on sensitive areas such as cheeks, face, upper lips, near the eyebrows and more. The device not only helps in removing finer hair such as peach fuzz, but also helps in getting rid of little thick facial hair such as on the chin. I have even used the device above the eyebrows and the results were excellent. You can shape the eyebrows well by removing unwanted hair and also remove peach fuzz from forehead.

The Led light adds to the convenience of removing the hair. The device is portable and you can carry it anywhere to get rid of the unwanted hair. The battery lasts for quite some time depending on how frequently you use it.

Verdict

These hair removal devices have been a revolutionary introduction in the market. They are far more convenient than traditional methods of removing facial hair. I have used device from both the brands and have had a fairly good experience with both. However, my vote goes to Philips owing to the popularity that brand enjoys. It gives an assurance that the brand might last long than its counterparts. However, from design, usage, convenience, and outcome viewpoint, both the devices are doing a fairly great job. From the price viewpoint, Braun is cost-effective as it is available at INR 1499 while the Philips one is available for INR 1995.
