Weight watchers and health enthusiasts look for snacking options that satiate them without adding to calories and helping them lose weight. The good-old Threptin biscuits are what you need to start your day and snack in between the meals. Unlike our regular biscuits such as Parle G, Monaco, Good Day, Moms Magic, Krackjack, etc. Threptin is not made of refined flour. These biscuits do more harm than good to our health. The cream biscuits and cookies are even worse, loaded with fats and calories.
On the other hand, Thretin biscuits are light on the stomach and satiate well to prevent hunger pangs. It is low on calories and glycemic index which makes it a good choice even for diabetics. There is no refined flour, palm oil, or sugar used in the ingredients. It is recommended by Doctors and nutritionists as well.
People who skip meals can also satiate themselves by replacing the meal with 2-3 Threptin biscuits. It is available in 2-3 flavors to delight your tastebuds. People recovering from any illness can also get their dose of wellness from Threptin. Individuals into intermittent fasting can break their fast with Threptin without worrying about glucose spikes or overdoing calories. For people aiming to lose weight, Threptin biscuits are a great snacking option instead of junk. They boost your energy and help build the muscles. It is a good supplement for vegetarians.

Threptin is good, but I have always seen doctors recommending this to gain weight and NOT to lose weight. Am I missing something here?
What I noticed was, this biscuit was suggested to add in between meals. It may help lose weight only if we are skipping a meal and taking this. ?
Yes, it’s true that doctors suggest Threptin to some people for gaining weight and also to patients recovering from any illness as a supplement. But in my experience, threptin can very much be a part of your weight loss diet plan, considering you are on an overall low calorie and low-carb diet. It helps to stay satiated and avoid mindless snacking.
I have personally lost 6 kgs in a span of 2 months, and threptin was very much a part of my diet. But yes, only people with portion control and low-calorie diets can benefit. Someone taking normal meals two to three times a day might not see any difference with threptin consumption.
Apart from weight loss, I feel that Threptin is a better choice of biscuit in general as compared to the maida-biscuits and cookies that people have with tea and coffee. Having 1 Threptin biscuit between meals or with tea and coffee is better than having 2-3 maida biscuits or cookies.
Threptin is good. Even I was prescribed Threptin biscuits as I was underweight. I think I gained about 3 kilos in 2 months by using 1-2 biscuits a day.
One thing is for sure, the biscuits are too costly. I had bought a 1 kg tin on a good discount on Amazon or some online medicine delivery app. Do not buy it at MRP!
I agree that Threptin biscuits are prescribed during pregnancy to improve fetal weight.
There is also a lite version that is suitable for diabetes patients.
Oh wow, I had no idea about Threptin biscuits! I usually go for the regular ones like Parle G or Good Day without really thinking about what’s in them. I like their taste and my family do too. The fact that Threptin is not made of refined flour and is recommended by doctors and nutritionists is eye-opening. I’ve been trying to be a bit healthier lately, and if these biscuits are low on calories and good for weight loss, maybe I will give them a try. Please suggest some good brands offering taste and variants.
Threptin is a great alternative to regular biscuits and cookies that are packed with sugar and refined flour. Depending on the kind of diet you are taking, Threptin can be a part of both weight gain and weight loss plans. Apart from weight loss/gain, people can make a healthy switch to satiate their hunger pangs and keep away from sugar and maida, which are not good for daily consumption.
Biscuits have become a part and parcel of our routine, but none of the brands or variants are completely healthy. It is better to choose healthier alternatives, as making small, mindful choices every day can contribute to a healthy lifestyle in the long run.
Just wanted to let you know, Threptin now comes in a new version for kids: Threptin Junior.
There is not much difference in the taste, but the flavour seemed good for kids. It also contains Shankhpushpi and Brahmi and promises there is no maida used.
I will slowly make this the primary biscuit for the kid and get rid of the sugar+maida biscuits.
By the way, I am hoping Threptin will add some weight and not lose weight 😉
