My Experience and Review of Flipkart Groceries

I lived in Lucknow for some months due to a work project and I didn’t have much time to shop for groceries in the market. So I decided to use Flipkart, yes there was Big Basket and Amazon, but as I lived in the outskirts, there service wasn’t as good as Flipkart. I was hopeful when Flipkart ventured into the grocery delivery space. The offers were good enough to make me into giving their service a try. However, what followed was a series of bad events that turned my grocery shopping experience from Flipkart into a nightmare. I never expected such a service from a brand like Flipkart.

My first order was marked by a missing item. The delivery person’s suggestion to file for a refund. The delivery guy was pretty causal as if missing items was something that they handled daily. But, I still decided to give it a few more tries because it was the only best option in that area. But, the subsequent orders were even more appalling. A delivery person refused to deliver to my doorstep, demanding I meet him on the street. The worst thing was that the package was also already open. The delivery guy literally asked to hand him my phone, and when I checked another item was missing.

The third attempt was comedic in a sense but I was really pissed at the end. They decided to change the delivery date and didn’t even care to inform me via SMS or something, and when the order was delivered, it was completely wrong and didn’t have anything that I ordered from the store. Customer service seemed indifferent to my complaints. Unfortunately, due to my not being able to make time, I ordered once more, but my order never arrived, thankfully, I didn’t make the payment beforehand, otherwise I would’ve suffered from monetary issues too because their customer care is also really bad.

It is really baffling to experience such a consistent pattern of incompetence from someone like Flipkart. I have always preferred Amazon was my regular shopping, and I think I now understand why they are the better service provider. The combination of missing items, delayed deliveries, incorrect orders, and really bad customer service is simply unacceptable.

I strongly advise potential customers to steer clear of Flipkart’s grocery service. My experience has been nothing short of a disaster, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

  1. Everyone I know in Delhi NCR region say LOL whenever Flipkart topic comes. Service seems to be really bad. I heard they sometimes replaced other brand products with their own Flipkart-brand stuff which is usually S#it.
With lot of other players in the market, why would someone order from Flipkart? Makes no sense at all.

    1. Yes, it was just about the convenience Flipkart was offering me that I chose them but it was a big mistake. They really don’t care about customer. They are just surviving off the huge population that India has and also the product franchise where only they can sell particular products. But I guess, I am not going back to Flipkart for groceries ever again.

  2. when I ordered groceries in Flipkart, then the delivery boy who came to deliver groceries was very rude and scolding us very harshly that we had put wrong location to deliver and we don’t have responsibility to order correctly and he was asking extra money for petrol he came. He called us before and asked the location we told him and we even sent in WhatsApp he said he will be coming and after coming he said he was lost and we had put wrong location he even asked extra money and he was impatient and screaming on us.

  3. flipkart is one of the worst service providers, every time I have ordered groceries, either the items went missing or damaged, I gave three shots n none was upto the mark, not sure if the delivery guy was to be blamed or the vendors.
A good quality check is a must which I think they lack, it causes so much inconvenience.
