My uncle faced some heart health issues, and his doctor suggested to use healthier cooking oil into his diet. We used to eat normal soyabean oil for our daily cooking. But the recommendation from the doctor prompted me to explore rice bran oil. As it is known for its myriad health benefits. I also learned that it has a positive impact on heart health, blood pressure regulation, and cholesterol levels. I think rice bran oil is a suitable option for overall health improvement. During my search, I discovered that rice bran oil is available in various forms, either as a standalone oil or in combination with other cooking oils. This allowed me to select the most suitable option that aligned with my uncle’s health requirements and our Indian cooking preferences.
After researching and exploring numerous options available online, I curated a list of some popular rice bran oil choices to meet our Indian cooking needs. This process helped me find the ideal rice bran oil variant that seamlessly aligned with our cooking and health requirements.
Saffola Active Refined Cooking Oil:
Well, this was one of the most recommended brands I came across. This is a blended rice bran oil, and a healthy option to consider. As it is a blended oil, the oil is mixed with rice bran and soya bean oil. Another great thing about this oil is that it has low absorption capabilities, so you can make healthy food with ease. If you are on a weight loss journey, then also this oil is a good option. It is also free from bad cholesterol.
Fortune Rice Bran Health Oil:
Again an oil brand that almost all of us have heard and might have eaten too. My mom used this oil for two months and we liked it. The only issue was availability was not proper in my town so we had to switch to Saffola. This rice bran oil doesn’t have any additives and using this oil in cooking can help in reducing bad cholesterol levels. Another thing that I liked about this oil is its high flame point. It makes the oil perfect for frying.
Mr Gold Rice Bran Oil:
If you want an affordable option, then this is the oil for you. This oil doesn’t get absorbed, so you don’t need to worry even if you’re on a low fat diet. You can also use the oil for all types of cooking because of good high flame points just like Fortune oil. I also like its mild flavor and comes with a six month shelf life.
Oleev Health Oil:
Another oil that I absolutely loved when I tried it for the first time. This is made from the combination of rice bran and canola oil, which both are great for health so you get two benefits in one. Canola oil’s presence makes it good for skin too. But again, due to its low availability, I am not able to buy it in my town regularly.
Final thoughts:
We at my home use Saffola oil and it has been really good for regular usage. But, I still feel Oleev is the best among the bunch. If you can get Oleev’s Rice Bran Oil in your area, then you should definitely go for it. These are definitely expensive oils compared to soya bean or sunflower oil, but Mr Gold Rice Bran oil is a good affordable option. I hope this list helps you in choosing the right oil for your family.
Thanks for sharing the detailed review about Rice bran oils. I have heard of the health benefits of rice bran oil but never tried it. Usually, we use groundnut oil for cooking at home. Now that I am looking for a healthy oil that can promote good health and aid in weight loss, I think it’s time to consider using rice bran oil.
Yes, you can go for it. We also use groundnut oil whenever we have to cook fariyal for fast.
