So, let me tell you about my mom’s crazy love for all things kitchen-related. She’s like this cooking equipment maniac, always hunting for the coolest stuff. And she loved almost all products from Wonderchef, the brand of Sanjeev Kapoor. I remember the first time she discovered it – it was through one of those teleshopping channels, I don’t know which one.
Anyway, back then, about 7-8 years ago, she ordered this Wonderchef diamond pan and a kadai with a glass lid. And let me tell you, it was love at first cook. Seriously, I’ve never seen her so excited about non-stick cookware before. These things were like kitchen superheroes, and they’re still holding up like anything I have seen. They’ve got this cool granite finish that not only looks awesome but also makes sure nothing sticks to them. I mean, we hardly need any oil to make a delicious meal, and even besan chilla, the chickpea pancake thing.
But here’s the thing – back when we got this Wonderchef set, they didn’t cost an arm and a leg. We got a set of 4 for just 1999 bucks, which was pretty darn reasonable. Fast forward to today, and I checked the price tag – 3599! Some places even dare to ask for 4000! That’s a huge increment.
So, we thought, maybe it’s time for an upgrade, especially since one of our beloved kadai is showing signs of aging. That’s when I stumbled upon Amazon Brand Solimo’s Granite Cookware. And to be honest, it is really good. Of course, it has not been much time using them, but they are working really well and I didn’t expect that at all. Most of these Amazon Solimo products are cheap copies of other successful brands and that’s why I was skeptical if it would live up to the expectations. However the thing that attracted me was that I was able to get a set of 6 non-stick items for just 1999. I mean that’s like a bargain and if it works for 3-4 years, then I am fine. It has been 6 months and my mother has not been disappointed. They are working just fine. So if you are also looking to snag a good deal give them a try.

We have purchased the prestige kadai 3 times. After a year or so, it starts getting scratches and the coating appears soft. So scratches become deep.
I think it is common in all granite texture kadais. Probably they are making the coating thicker for this design. Thick coating is prone to deep scratches.
I think you can give Solimo or Wonderchef anyone a try. if price is your constraint, then go for Solimo, but if you want something in budget, then there’s nothing better than Wonderchef, we have been using its non-stick kadai and lan for more than 7 years and it has now only started to show rustiness. otherwise it worked fine. Solimo items are good too.
Wonderchef has emerged as a popular brand in recent years. But if you are looking for an affordable brand, Solimo is a better choice. I haven’t tried the kitchenware product from Solimo personally, but have heard of good reviews. I have tried other products from Solimo, and they were pretty good. You can explore Solimo products without any second thoughts.
Wonderchef is my mother’s fav brand because of Sanjeev Kapoor’s trust. And there products are damn good too but the cost factor is always in my mind. I think Wonderchef products are little overpriced. That’s why I bought similar products from Solimo at lesser prices and got decent ones. I definitely think they have good products for their price range. it will be interesting to see how long they last because Wonderchef products last hella long.
