Hello friends,
I have a gas stove purchased from nonbranded seller. That is now damaged and giving all kinds of problem. One good thing is it has auto ignition and does not need lighter.
I am planning to buy a new one and discard this one. But I see all good stoves are without auto ignition. Is that really bad? Please tell if you know a good model with auto ignition.
Automatic gas stoves are not that good I feel. We stopped using automatic burners and purchased Butterfly manual gas stove from Amazon.
Automatic was problematic and if the burner doesn’t work gas will keep flowing and leaking into the room.
Whatever stove you buy, try to buy one that has a good return policy. many times defective product are getting delivered. Sellers think we will not return such bulky and heavy item.
I can understand your concerns. It’s crucial to have a safe and reliable cooking appliance in your home and my family where kids are there and they often cook some items while studying at night or if my uncle’s kids or nephews come. Safety is always a top priority for me when dealing with gas appliances, and it’s concerning that the automatic stove pose a risk with gas leaks. I think not all products are meant for online purchase. It’s wise advice to purchase stoves from sellers you know especially for bulky items like gas stoves. In my own experiences, I’ve found that manual stoves can offer more control over the flame, which can be advantageous for various cooking techniques. Additionally, if there is any issue we can resolve it easily.
You can get one from Glen or Thermador on Flipkart,Amazon. Glass top is sometimes risky as glass can crack accidentally. Make sure you inspect well when you purchase online. Better to buy from a mall nearby, if possible.
There are instances of glass top shattering into pieces. Almost all glass-top gas stoves have one or two customers complaining of the same. I have not heard from anyone though. Need to research what may cause that.
Budget? At 2000-3000 range, the stoves seem to be of questionable quality. ~6000 is where you get great quality and service. Look for Prestige in the range of 5000-7000.
We have replaced auto-ignition stove by a manual one. Auto ignition was a hit or miss every time and not safe for elderly people. If you are open for manual ignition models, go for Vidiem. Both Vidiem and Prestige are from the south of India and both are great brands. material quality at Vidiem is much better than the Prestige stoves.
This one was what I liked most https://www.amazon.in/Vidiem-GS-G2-120-Frameless/dp/B08BXPRPZX/
I wanted to tell about some sortland behaviour from online sellers. We purchased “Prestige Royale Plus” 3 burner gas stove however we returned it as we noticed one burner was not working at all. This product description mentioned a special SABAF gas valve from Italy. However the actual product had normal brass valves of generic make.
Then we ordered Elica which was appropriately priced performance is also good and it has doubled drip trays if you are interested.
Why not Pigeon Gas Stoves? They are better priced than everything you have listed here.
Pigeon is good brand as good as Prestige. However the material quality such as the brass burners are not upto mark if you buy the cheaper models. Any stove above 3k wil have good brass burners.
Many people will write about glass-top burner glass shattering on its own. Dont go by those reviews. Those are one-off incidents and happen to any brand. I have personally used a no-brand glass cooktop, rough use, no damage even after using it for 8 years. It was purchased for 1500/-
BPL auto ignition gas stove is always a best option. I own a BPL stove which I find to be trouble free for past 20 plus years. I bought it from my near by shop which had an exchange offer then . Only once we had to change the ignition switch in this long span of twenty years.
