I have been thinking of upgrading to an inverter AC for a while now, and with the ongoing Big Billion Days and Great Indian Festival sales on Flipkart and Amazon, I think this might be the perfect time to get one at a good discount. But I am curious if inverter ACs are truly more energy-efficient compared to regular ACs and whether the initial higher cost is worth it in the long run. From what I’ve read, inverter ACs are designed to regulate the compressor speed, which means they don’t turn on and off repeatedly like traditional ACs. Instead, they maintain a consistent temperature by running at a lower power level once the room is cooled. This sounds like a great way to save on electricity, but I wonder how much of a difference it really makes in day-to-day use.
I have seen claims that they can save anywhere from 30% to 50% on energy bills compared to non-inverter models, but is that actually the case? One reason I am leaning toward getting one now is because of the summer heat and my regular AC jacking up the electricity bill. Plus, with these festival sales, I am seeing some attractive discounts, and it might be a good time to switch. After some research, the Daikin and LG Dual Inverter models are on my radar, especially with their 5-star energy ratings. But at the same time, I have been cautious about making the switch due to the higher upfront cost. I mean, will the energy savings in the long run really offset the initial investment?
For those who already have an inverter AC, how much of a difference have you noticed in your electricity bills? Is it noticeably quieter or more effective than traditional ACs? And if it is worthy to pick up a good deal during the sale, I would love to know which brand and model you went for!
Let me know your experiences, or the brands or models which I should go for.
