Are there thin gold chains sold online? I mean simple necklace. Amazon has a jewellery section but doesnt have a simple design gold chain.

On amazon, have you checked kalyan Jewellers Candere shop? They have nice chains. They have their own website too.
Other place to buy online is Tanishq. I just saw Rs.13000 – Rs 30000 range of thin necklace chains on both Amazon and Tanishq.

Online jewelry shopping is too costly compared with local shops. Thin chains are easily available locally.
I went to a shop for a very thin chain and found just two chains, and both are above 50000 rupees. Online there is variety in 13000 to 30000 range.

I think it is not good to buy online. Local big shops have chains starting from 50k. How can you expect quality from 15k chain?

I will not trust buying gold online. It is too costly matter. If something goes wrong, it may be difficult to followup and solve. Do they deliver gold jewelry via ordinary courier service?
You can check the designs of jewellery online but I prefer you should go to any local jewellery shop that way you will be able to decide much more. As it is a gold jewellery and the cost should be calculated explicitly so that you could get a fair shopping experience of gold. I do not prefer purchasing gold jewelries from online store.
