I’ve had the privilege of exploring the world of Indian sustainable fashion brands, and it’s been quite a remarkable journey. The best thing about the brands I have tried is all of them are homegrown brands. They are doing good job and I think if you love and care about enviornment, you can try these brands. Some of the standout Indian sustainable fashion brands I’ve had the pleasure of discovering:
1. The Summer House: Stepping into The Summer House feels like a breath of fresh air. They have really great and authentic fabrics like linen and natural fibers. I liked the quality of their shirts.
2. Rango: I really love this brand’s approach, and I find them truly unique. These guys repurpose old saris and dhotis, transforming them into new, fashionable clothing pieces, which is quite amazing and their final products are great as well. Definitely this is what I have seen recycling at its finest!
3. Chindi: Again a great brand but the best thing for me about them is their creativity. I like how they make products from recycled materials like cotton and denim to fashion. They also do not only clothing but also accessories.
4. Studio Tullika: again a great brand with a delightful range of clothing made from natural and organic fabrics such as cotton, silk, and linen. I love their elegant design and the pricing.
5. Ecolife Recycling: I read on their website they have a mission to turn old textiles and plastic bottles into stylish clothing and accessories. And my god, they are doing it wonderfully. I ordered some stuff from their website and I love them. They are a bit expensive but definitely worth it.
6. Upasana: What I love about Upasana is their dedication to using natural and organic materials especially wool to create stunning clothing. They are also making home accessories.
7. NorBlack NorWhite: They utilize materials like recycled cotton and organic cotton, which is great for cotton lovers. They have some great craft clothing and their accessories also have a contemporary edge.
8. 11.11: Another brand that I tried and loved for its holistic approach. They create have some really good linen-based products.
These Indian sustainable fashion brands are remarkable. Of course, they are bit expensive but environmental friendly. I would recommend to give these Indian brands a try rather than foreign.
Thanks for sharing so many sustainable fashion brands. Most people have never heard of these brands, as there is little to no awareness about sustainable fashion. People are running after fast fashion and hardly realize how badly we need to ponder upon our choices.
I also know of an Ahmedabad-based sustainable clothing brand- Bhu: Sattva. These brands use natural fiber and colors for their outfits, leaving no carbon footprint. Their eco-friendly practices are really inspiring. Sure, sustainable clothing brands can be expensive, but they are worth trying. The idea is to invest in a few quality timeless pieces and use them over and over instead of mindlessly buying clothes that we don’t even need.
In times when everybody talks about going green, why not begin with our clothes!
Definitely, these brands are not known. but I think sustainable clothing is need of the hour. It’s better to contribute to enviornment anyway you can. I have been buying from these brands every now and then.
