With the festival sale going on and offers, I have been looking to upgrade my kitchen cookware, and diamond non-stick cookware from brands like Prestige and Wonderchef caught my eye. The idea of diamond-infused non-stick surfaces sounds promising, but I’m curious if these are really worth it or just a marketing gimmick. So, I thought I’d ask if anyone has used these pans or pots and if they really make a difference in cooking.
Prestige Diamond Non-Stick Cookware
Prestige is a brand I am already familiar with. I have used their pressure cookers before, and they’ve held up well. The Prestige Omega Select Plus Diamond cookware claims to be more durable, scratch-resistant, and have superior non-stick performance thanks to the diamond coating. It is also said to be metal-spoon friendly, which is a big plus for me since I am guilty of using metal utensils in non-stick pans. The price is a bit on the higher side, but if it lasts longer, I wouldn’t mind paying more.
Wonderchef Diamond Non-Stick Cookware
Wonderchef, on the other hand, is also aother brand that I have tried before, but I have seen a lot of their products online. Their Diamond Series non-stick cookware also boasts diamond-coated surfaces that are supposed to be long-lasting and efficient. They claim the cookware can heat evenly and prevent hotspots, which would be great since uneven cooking is one of the issues I’m facing with my current pans. From what I’ve seen, Wonderchef’s cookware is a bit more affordable than Prestige’s, but I am skeptical if the performance is just as good. I’ve come across some mixed reviews online – some say it’s great for the price, while others complain about the non-stick coating wearing off faster than expected. So, I’m not sure whether I should trust the lower price or stick with Prestige.
Real Benefits or Gimmick?
I am also wondering if this whole diamond-infused coating is just a marketing strategy. Is it really worth switching to diamond non-stick cookware, or should I stick with regular non-stick options? Are there any actual advantages like improved durability, cooking performance, or ease of cleaning that you’ve experienced? Or are they just another non-stick pan with a fancy name?
If anyone has tried diamond non-stick cookware from Prestige, Wonderchef, or any other brand, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
I did not see any mention of “Diamond” in Prestige products online. Were you referring to newly released model? Looking at the description, I can for sure say this is marketing gimmick. Have used the so called “granite” non-stick cookware many times and they were very easy to get scratches. Not a great experience IMO.
Oh, thanks for sharing. I also read that diamond is just a gimmicky thing that they are using. However, Wonderchef ones are claiming that it works well. I will see to buy one from Wonderchef and see just to test because of their claim.
It is worth experimenting if you really want to compare Prestige vs Wonderchef products. Prestige products have stood the test of time while Wonderchef if relatively new to the game. But they have long years of experience in general.
You get what you pay for. People do complain about either brand and that is mostly people who do not handle their utensils well. Ask someone using a dishwasher and wooden spatulas and whatnot, they will probably never complain about bad coating on these utensils.
I agree that proper care goes a long way in extending the life of non-stick cookware. I’ve been pretty mindful about using wooden or silicone spatulas and avoiding abrasive scrubbers. You are right about Prestige having a long-standing reputation, and I’ve heard mixed things about Wonderchef too. Some people rave about their products, while others aren’t as impressed. Do you personally have experience with either brand’s diamond-coated pans? I am curious if the diamond coating is just a fancy label or if it really makes a difference compared to traditional non-stick.
