Are Whole Wheat Pastas From DiSano or Borges Good?

I have been trying to make some healthier changes to my diet lately, and one of the things I am trying to cut down on is regular pasta. Instead of the regular refined flour variety, I have been thinking of switching to whole wheat pasta. After doing some research, I came across two popular brands available in India: DiSano and Borges. Both brands have their whole wheat pasta options, and I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews about them. Since I am looking for a healthier alternative without compromising too much on taste, I would love to know if anyone here has tried either of these brands. One of my main concerns when switching to whole wheat pasta is the taste and texture. Regular pasta made from refined wheat flour is smoother and lighter, and I have heard whole wheat pasta can be a bit more grainy or dense. I am wondering if either of these brands, DiSano or Borges, manages to get that balance right. Does anyone feel like there’s a noticeable difference in flavor between the two?

Another important factor is cooking time. From what I have read, whole wheat pasta generally takes a bit longer to cook than regular pasta, but it is also easier to overcook. Does anyone have experience with how DiSano or Borges’ whole wheat pasta behaves when cooking? Which one maintains a better texture when boiled: firm yet tender, without becoming mushy?

Now, when it comes to nutrition, both brands claim to offer the benefits that come with whole wheat – higher fiber content, more nutrients, and a lower glycemic index compared to traditional pasta. These are exactly the benefits I am looking for in this switch. Finally, price and availability are also on my mind. DiSano pasta seems to be more frequently available in local supermarkets and online platforms like Amazon. It is also slightly more affordable than Borges, at least based on what I have seen online. Borges, on the other hand, seems to be a more globally recognized brand with a long history, and while it’s a bit pricier, some say it’s worth it. If anyone has tried both, I would love to know whether you think the extra price for Borges is justified, or if DiSano gives you the same value at a better price point.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback as I prepare to make the switch to a healthier pasta option!
