Anyone with experience on Indigo flight Flexi booking refund?

hi everyone, I am thinking of booking a flexi plus ticket on Indigo flight so that I can change date if required. What will happen if I change the date for a cheaper flight ticket? Will I get a refund? Will it be automatically done and money will come back to my account or card used?

Anyone with experience, please comment.

  1. Everything you do under “edit booking” will eventually ask for payment or show a refund to original payment method. I dont think they keep your refund in any credit shell anymore.
But keep in mind you can not buy normal saver fare when you are changing the dates in a flexi plus ticket. You have to book flexi plus only. I have heard they charge a bit more in the flexi plus ticket when you are rescheduling.

    1. The flexi plus price you will see during rescheduling is the same price others will see when they try to book the same flight as fresh flexi ticket. So, I think Indigo Airlines is not doing any shady business here.

    2. Airlines do trick you into paying more. If you or others search a specific flight a lot, its price will suddenly go up. That applies to all types of tickets. Normal or Flexi or whatever.

If you are planning to buy seat, you will pay minimum 150 rupees. Amy food or drink in flight, another 100-300 rupees. That all is covered in your flexi booking. So it’s okay if you are paying ~300 – ~500 for flexi booking.

I can suggest you another way. Indigo also offers Flexi Pay option. There you can block the seat by paying 10% of total ticket. E.g. 500 rupess for a 5k ticket.
If plan changes, you just ignore that booking amd book a fresh ticket. You are losing 10% of ticket value.

      1. I completely understand your frustration with airlines’ pricing strategies. It can be really frustrating when you see prices go up just because you’ve been searching for a specific flight frequently. Your suggestion about Indigo’s Flexi Pay option sounds like a smart workaround. Blocking a seat by paying only 10% of the total ticket cost can be a more cost-effective way to secure your booking without committing fully. Thanks for sharing this tip; it’s always good to find ways to navigate the sometimes tricky world of airline bookings.

  2. I think if you make any changes to the date of your Indigo flexi plus ticket to a cheaper flight, the refund process can vary depending on the airline’s policy. I got into a situation like this before. Typically, you won’t get an automatic refund for the price difference. Instead, you may receive a credit or voucher for the price difference, which you can use for future bookings with Indigo. I think it’s better to check their terms and conditions, I did contact their customer support for details on refund and how much time it will take.
