My uncle is currently building a new home, and we’re exploring options for modular kitchen solutions. When we built our home a few years ago, we opted for a local carpenter to do the work. While it was cost-effective, it didn’t come with many of the smart features that are available in modern kitchens today. Now, my uncle wants to upgrade to a more sophisticated kitchen and is willing to spend a decent amount on getting it done right. We’ve been looking at brands like Godrej Interio, Ikea, and Sleek (by Asian Paints), but we’re not sure which one offers better service and quality.
Why Modular Kitchens: Modular kitchens are highly customizable and come with smart features like soft-closing drawers, corner cabinets that maximize space, and sleek finishes. They offer solutions for small and large kitchens alike, with a focus on practicality, ease of use, and aesthetics.
Brands I have researched about:
1. Godrej Interio: We have heard that Godrej is a trusted name in home furnishings, and their modular kitchen solutions seem to offer a balance between quality and price. Their designs are practical, and they offer a good variety of finishes. Does anyone have experience with Godrej’s modular kitchens? How is their after-sales service, and are their designs customizable enough to suit a mid-to-high budget?
2. Ikea: Ikea is another big name we are considering, especially because of their global reputation for durable and affordable furniture. Their modular kitchens are stylish, functional, and customizable, but since Ikea is relatively new to India, I am not sure how reliable their service is. Does anyone have experience with getting an Ikea kitchen installed? I have heard that some people find their kitchens to be DIY-heavy, and my uncle is hoping to avoid too much hands-on work.
3. Sleek by Asian Paints: Sleek Kitchens also seem like a popular choice, and I have read a few positive reviews. Since they are a part of Asian Paints, I expect their designs to be modern and their service to be reliable. However, some seem to have mixed opinions on their installation and service quality. Can anyone share their experience with Sleek kitchens, particularly regarding the durability of materials and how well the designs hold up over time?
Design and Customization: My uncle wants something sleek but also practical for everyday use. Which of these brands offers more flexibility in terms of design and customization?
Durability and Quality: Since he is willing to invest, durability is key. We’re looking for materials that are resistant to water and heat, as it’s a high-use space.
After-Sales Service: A modular kitchen is a long-term investment, and good service is crucial. If anyone has experience with the after-sales support from these brands, please share.
Price vs. Features: While Ikea is known to be affordable, Godrej and Sleek seem to be on the pricier side. Do you think the extra cost is worth it in terms of features and durability?
We would love to hear from anyone who has opted for a modular kitchen from these brands or even from other companies that we might not have considered. Thanks in advance.
Godrej Interio, among all these is the best and trusted I would say. Sleek is also very good but godrej provides service almost everywhere in the country and has professionals everywhere. So it is better to choose them because if your uncle faces issues, he can contact them. Also the turn around time for building the kitchen is fast too. You can get a different budget options from them.
Yes, I was leaning towards Asian Paints Sleek but they haven’t been responding very well even before the work has started, I don’t even know how they would act once they start doing work, I think it is better for me to go with Godrej Interio. It is highly recommended by one of my friends who lives in Mumbai, he got his kitchen renovated with them and they did a fantastic job and even provided some extra warranties and services package which helped him this Diwali for cleaning and just a regular check up purpose.
