Has Anyone Tried Realme Washing Machines? Seeking Advice for My Sister’s Purchase

I am currently considering getting a semi-automatic washing machine for my sister, and I was made aware of Realme offering both fully automatic and semi-automatic washing machines in my budget of 10,000 rupess. It is a 2024 model, and although Realme is well-known for smartphones, I didn’t realize they had entered the home appliance market. Now, I am confused about whether I should take the plunge with this new brand for washing machines or stick to something more established like Voltas.

Voltas Semi-Automatic Option:

Initially, I was leaning towards the Voltas semi-automatic washing machine on Flipkart, which costs around ₹9,290. It’s from a reliable brand that’s well-known. The price is reasonable, and I have seen mostly positive reviews. Since this is for my sister, reliability is a big factor, and I know Voltas delivers on that front.

Realme:

However, I got a call from Flipkart Customer Care today suggesting that Realme has launched new washing machines, including both fully and semi-automatic options. I was surprised because I wasn’t aware that Realme had ventured into home appliances. Now, this has me intrigued, but also cautious. While Realme’s smartphones have been good, I am not sure if their washing machines hold the same standard. Their entry into the appliance space is quite new, so I’m finding it hard to trust something that doesn’t have many reviews or customer experiences yet. They are offering around fully-automatic in 10,000.

For this purchase, I am mainly looking for:

• Reliability: This washing machine will be sent to my sister, so I need something that won’t break down easily.
• Ease of Use: She’s used to semi-automatic machines, so I don’t want to overwhelm her with too many features, which is why I’m leaning towards a semi-automatic.
• Price: The Voltas model fits well within my budget, but the Realme model might offer more features for a similar or slightly higher price.

Has anyone bought or heard about Realme washing machines? How do they compare to established brands like Voltas? Should I stick to Voltas, or take a chance with Realme’s new model?
