Someone pinged me with what they found on Flipkart.
A combo package of three hair-care products, each item’s actual cost being ~500 rupees, is sold for less than Rs 200/-
And that’s not just one example, this is all over Flipkart (and Amazon and other online sellers?).
Many feedbacks and reviews say fake items. However, multiple sellers have been selling same item. Some fake and some genuine. So the feedback is mixed and easily confusing. Here’re some sellers and the prices they offer:
Notice the realistic price from some sellers towards the bottom. Now a genuine seller’s reputation can be spoilt by the fake ones above. What’s your opinion?
You get what you pay for
@Nirmala, sometimes there are good offers and discounts on original products too. Cant say its bad because its cheap.
Flipkart should automatically check if seller price has too much difference from another seller. That way it is easy to detect fraud sellers.
If they want to. They clearly are enjoying the comission from these sellers. So dont bother.
Technically, it is very easy for Flipkart to detect these fraudulent sellers. If they are not doing that and encouraging these sellers on the platform, they are spoiling their own reputation amd credibility
Most of the times we get genuine cosmetics products from the seller “BestBuy” on Amazon. Make sure the item is “Amazon Fulfilled”.
I think amazon fulfilled doesnot guarantee the product is original. It may be original if it is sold by amazon and not by 3rd party sellers.
Have never faced any such issue with my cosmetics orders online. I usually order from Nykaa. Yes, I would suspect heavy discounts on cosmetics products. It is too good to be genuine.
So bad. Where can we go to find authentic products? Now Purplle is also a market place, that means outside sellers can sell on that platform. I think it is best to go to known shops and buy from there.
That’s the reason why I have left Flipkart forever. There are fake products sold under “Flipkart Assured” logo. And there is no way to complain or get the money back if the product is not refundable.
I don’t know about fake cosmetics but definitely they cheat during sales and send defective products. it’s better to check expiry and other stuff before using them. I think Amazon is way better in these things.
